When I spent the night at my grandparents’ home as a little girl, my nana always read books to me that took place in Paris. I developed a fascination, arguably an obsession, with the city and all the wonders it holds. We always talked about going there one day together and it became a topic that we bonded with. For my high school graduation, they surprised me with a trip to Paris in May. I cried with joy in the middle of a Parisian style restaurant. Yes, I ugly cried in public.
While on the plane, I read every article about Paris that I could find on the internet. I had seven hours to kill so I had quite a bit of time to validate that I’m Paris’s number one fan. I have enough stories from our trip that I could fill a Harry Potter sized novel. Perhaps my favorite memory was visiting Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, France. Monet’s garden is absolutely spectacular! It was so surreal to walk through his home and property! It felt like I was walking through his paintings. Everything about this particular excursion was perfect. Our trip was planned perfectly because all of the flowers and plants were in full bloom.
There was a sense of peace and tranquility that filled my body while exploring Monet’s property. I’ve never seen anything this spectacular in my life. If you are ever in my sweet Paree, PLEASE stop in Giverny for me!
